TEACHING
In addition to performing, I'm passionate about arts education. When teaching, my goal is to empower students, regardless of age and experience. Our voices are a core part of who we are. I prioritize providing a safe space to explore one’s sound and curiosity. Every student is unique and I can comfortably adapt to each student's needs. I teach all ages, levels, and styles from beginner to advanced. If your child caught the singing bug and you want to encourage their music-making curiosity, OR if you just want to hone your technique and build a toolbox, OR if you want to learn and don't know where to start, I can be the teacher for you.
My teaching experience expands beyond one-on-one voice lessons. I taught Western classical music history at the collegiate level, plus acting, writing, and opera in jails across New York City for adult men. I also worked with groups of children in after-school arts programs. All of these different environments and topics taught me the importance of flexibility, accessibility, and compassion. Singing, especially opera, is often made out to be an unattainable "gift." One of my greatest missions in life is to make the art form welcoming to anyone open and curious.
DRAMATIC COACHINGS
I also provide dramatic coachings. If you need help with a monologue or an art song/aria/musical theater piece for an audition, I can help demystify the process. In these coachings, we will break-down text, character and acting techniques to help bring your piece to life.
